In the last few years O’Shea’s has become a hot spot foreigners and locals.  The owner is Tommy Griffin, an Irishman  who first made a visit with a friend to Nicaragua several years ago.  He fell in love with the country, the people and the lifestyle.

When he first moved to Nicaragua in 2007, he started a juice bar.  By the end of 2008 he had expanded O’Shea’s (It’s his mother’s last name) to a full on restaurant and pub.  O’Shea’s is located a couple of blocks away from the central park towards the lake across the street from the Dario hotel.  The exterior walls are painted green, it will be hard to miss.

O’Shea’s is definitely a place you must make a stop while you are in Granada.  They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner.  For breakfast you can get American style breakfast with eggs, bacon, pancakes, fruit etc.  You can also get a traditional Nicaraguan breakfast with eggs, gallo pinto (beans & rice), tortilla and fried cheese.  If that is not enough you can have a traditional Irish breakfast which includes eggs, bacon or sausage, home fries, onion & tomato, and toast.

As great as breakfast is at O’Shea’s, you must come back for lunch or dinner and really get the Irish experience in Nicaragua.  You can come back and have some of there signature fish & chips along with an ice cold beer.  They have a wide selection to choose from including Guinness.  If you are not in the mood for a beer, they have a large selection of fruit smoothies to choose from.  They smoothie that combines strawberries, banana, and orange juice is AMAZING!  A definite MUST TRY!  They do have other fruit combinations if you are looking more something a little different.

In addition to the great fish & chips, they also have a wide variety of items on the menu.  They have burgers, chicken burgers, chicken fajitas, beefsteak, peppered steak, pork chops, pasta and much more.  There is something for the whole family,

The combination of great food and great drinks with the awesome atmosphere makes it a great experience.  You can sit outside and enjoy the evening breeze running the streets of Granada.  Sitting outside surrounded by the great colonial architecture enjoying an excellent meal is a nice treat.  Guests that have dined at O’Shea’s have said it is authentic, affordable and brilliant atmosphere.
